There are many methods used to install insulators on high voltage transmission lines. The slowest and least cost effective is by bucket truck. Air2, LLC uses helicopters to either install new insulators or replace existing insulators.

Air2 first prepares the insulator on the ground for installation on the power line. Using the long line method (another method uses a patented platform attached to the helicopter skids) Air2 transports the insulator and lineman to the powerline structure.
