Air2 is the leading provider and innovator of helicopter construction and maintenance services to the North American electric transmission industry. Air2 directly provides its own MD 500 helicopters along with its highly trained and specialized crews. We will also arrange and coordinate with other helicopter providers for medium lift and heavy lift requirements.
Electric power companies, contractors and utility company project managers can obtain all of their helicopter assisted construction needs from one source, Air2’s operations are integrated and managed by professionals who are specialized and experienced in helicopter construction methods.
New Construction projects:
- Set poles and lattice structures
- Type 1 loads up to 900 lbs.
- Type 2 loads up to 3500 lbs.
- Type 3 loads up to 6000 lbs.
- Type 4 loads up to 19,000 lbs.
- Structure framing
- Hang cross-arms or davit arms
- Install x-braces, knee and v-braces
- Hang insulators and stringing blocks
- Pull sock-line, hard-line, OPGW or shield wire
- Clip in wires and remove stringing blocks
- Full-tension conductor and shield wire splicing (including tangent, angle, and double dead-end structures)
- Install spacers, marker balls, dampers, bird discouragers, anti-galloping devices
- Structure placement
- Transport vehicles and equipment, concrete, matting
- Post Construction Inspections
Re -Conductor, shield wire or OPGW upgrades
- Installation and removal of crossing guards
- Unclip wire and hang stringing blocks (including tangent, angle, and double dead-end structures)
- Cut out or cover sleeves; other necessary wire repairs
- Clipping-in conductors and remove stringing blocks (including tangent, angle, and double dead-end structures)
- Cut-out conductor sleeves
- Aerial monitoring of the pull
